Over the past decade, rainscreen wall systems have increasingly become the preferred architectural solution for designing and building high-performance building enclosure systems. When successfully designed and constructed, these systems are capable of delivering superior energy efficiency, moisture control, mold resistance, and indoor air quality. This webinar will explore the design principles and component assemblies that make up high-performance rainscreen wall systems, including metal cladding panels, air barriers, continuous exterior insulation, and vapor control. These principles are the basis for many performance requirements listed in model codes and standards such as ASHRAE 90.1, Title 24, the International Building Code, and the International Energy Conservation Code. Understanding these principles and incorporating these systems into project design can result in an effective, long-term return on value to the owners and occupants of any building.
