Reclaimed Wood for Today's World
Please join us for a lunch & learn on using reclaimed wood by Tadd Morris, owner of 2nd Chance Wood Company, LLC in Corunna, MI.
Attendees can earn 1 AIA/CES HSW SD learning unit.
Please RSVP by February 13th via the website.
The seminar will focus on preserving the antique hardwoods found in Michigan's historic buildings before they are lost. 2nd Chance Wood Company will run us through the process from barn deconstruction to product ready wood for renovations or new construction.
2nd Chance Wood wood has....
CHARACTER: Everything new lumber has PLUS a century of unique markings: hand hewn, rough sawn, weathered texture, wormwood, nail holes, and additional coloration from decades of indoor and outdoor exposure.
RE-PURPOSE: Environmental concerns are genuine, and people like to be able to do their part. The previous fate of an old barn was a bonfire. Now it can find a second life, reducing the carbon footprint not only by avoiding cutting new trees, but all the impact of processing and transporting.
