West Ann Arbor Health Center - Hard Hat Tour
AIA Huron Valley is pleased to host a construction site tour of the University of Michigan Health System's West Ann Arbor Health Center. This 75,000 square foot medical office building, designed by O|X Studio and built by Auch Construction, will be used to meet the health system's increasing demand for primary care, as well as house specialty and diagnostic services, including allergy, cardiology, gastroenterology, neurology, ophthalmology, and psychiatry, as well as infusion, radiology, and diagnostic imaging services.
Located on 14 acres, the facility is laid out to take advantage of the site's natural features including a pond and woodlands. Native habitat detention basins will manage stormwater and runoff from the steeply sloped site.
The construction tour will focus on the design of the exterior envelope, as well as the coordination of the building's complex mechanical and plumbing systems using BIM technology.
Participants need to dress in long pants, long sleeves and wear proper foot wear, and need to bring hard hats and safety glasses. Parking will be in the large lot south of the construction trailers.
Please register soon as spaces are limited!
This tour will be accredited for 1 HSW continuing education credit.
